Asia Cup Attracts Germany

weiss-cup.jpgThe idea of the Pacific and Asia cups was to attract fresh blood into the APRC, and it has certainly worked. While we’ve seen three entries from New Caledonia sign-up for the Pacific Cup, the Asia Cup is attracting interest from the other side of the world, with German rally driver Edith Weiss announcing she’ll contest three events on the Asia Cup calendar.

“I’m running rallies Indonesia, Malaysia and China. So Rally Indonesia will be my first rally in the APRC.”

A rally veteran, having contested more than 300 events, Edith has competed in rallies all over the world. Over the past few years, she spent a lot of time rallying in the Middle East with the assistance of her major sponsor Dubai-based jewellery company DAMAS.

Edith’s first Asia Cup event will be Rally Indonesia. She’ll be bringing her Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, which will likely be prepared by a Japanese rally team.
