The 2013 Asia Pacific Rally Championship proved that the old cliche ‘To finish first, first you must finish’, will always be an important rule of rallying.

The MRF Skoda team had the fastest cars and the best drivers, but as the season progressed other teams started to eat away at their points advantage.

By Japan’s Rally Hokkaido, the 5th round of the season, any one of four drivers could still take the title while Subaru was only a few points away from Skoda in the manufacturers championship.

The championship decider then became China Rally, the final event for the full championship.

The Pacific Cup and Asia Cup competition run in conjunction with the APRC provided an opportunity for other drivers to shine, with some unexpected results.

Thailand Rally made a welcome return to the APRC in 2013, the finale for the Asia Cup.
