Katsu Taguchi has won the the APRC Rally of Hokkaido, after his team-mate Gaurav Gill was excluded from the event for illegal modifications to his MRF Mitsubishi.

The team had modified the Lancer Evo 10 to R4 specifications, however one part was not modified correctly, leading to exclusion.

The Scotsmen now leads the Asia Pacific title fight, 7 points in front of his Proton team-mate Chris Atkinson who did not finish. Proton are now gauranteed the 2011 APRC drivers championship, the title to be settled at the next event in China.

The MRF Team have decided not to go China.
