Former World Rally Championship driver Alistair McRae will return home to drive the Proton Satria S2000 in next month’s Intercontinental Rally Challenge season-ending Rally of Scotland, after making his debut with the team on last week’s APRC Indonesia Rally.

The team were happy to set competitive times on the stages they did complete in the very rough and hot Rally Indonesia, round 6 of the 2009 Asia Pacific Rally Championship.

However power-steering problems ended the teams run on both days, possibility caused by the intense Indonesian heat. “Its risky when you’re doing your testing on events, but we’ve learnt so much already”, said MEM Chris Mellors after Indonesia.
