While Australian Simon Evans won the event outright, Cody Crocker has won the battle for APRC registered competitors in the 2009 Rally of Queensland. Home second is Katsu Taguchi and a surprise for Emma Gilmour, first event for Motor Image Racing and she earns a podium.

After holding third in APRC for most of the event Gaurav Gill had problems in the last stage dropping to 4th, while Brian Green was 5th after a trouble free run. Haydon Paddon was regularly setting 2nd fastest times throughout Day 2, but also had major problems in the last stage struggling home to finish over 32 minutes behind the leader.
