Brian Green confirms 2009 APRC

Evergreen New Zealand rally driver Brian Green has committed to the 2009 APRC series once again and for the third year in succession will drive one of Reece Jones Rallysport Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 1X’s.

A regular of the series contesting the Championship since 2002, Green has entered the Pacific Cup and will once again finish his 2009 campaign in China with Fan Fan’s Wan Yu Rally Team. Regular co driver Fleur Pedersen is unavailable for the series first event in New Caledonia and then will once again team up with Green for the remainder of the series.

Green, a property developer from the central North Island and long time rally enthusiast, has enjoyed competing at a number various events. His first event was the 1969 Silver Fern rally where he started in a 1300 cc Escort, he has won the Central Region Rally Championship a number of times, the New Zealand GroupA Championship in 1997 and the Malaysian National Championship in 2004.

Green has also won a number of podium positions in the Asia Pacific series over the years. The latest event saw the Green / Pedersen combination complete the recent Arctic Rally of Finland to add to there impressive list of recent International events that include WRC Ireland, WRC Great Britain and a fine second place on the 2008 Rally of Thailand.

Reece Jones Rallysport (www.reecejones-rallysport.co.nz) will join forces with Paddon Rallysport in a shared service format for the Pacific Cup where Greens intimate “event ” knowledge and advice will be of benefit to young rising star Hayden Paddon.
