Indonesian driver Rifat Sungkar has a lead of 3 seconds over Australian Brendan Reeves going into Day 2 of Rallye New Caledonia.
Sungkar won the two Nouville stages, a fast blast around a small peninsula then had an equal time with Reeves in the 3.1 kilometre super special.
The Australian got another 2 seconds back in the final run through the super special as the event heads to Day 2 and 128 kilometres of competition south of Noumea.
