Crocker waiting on P-WRC deal

Four-time Asia Pacific Rally Champion Cody Crocker is waiting to hear if he has the budget to compete in the Production car World Rally Championship in 2010.

Crocker has lost the backing of Singapore-based Subaru distributor for his Asia-Pacific campaign, meaning the Australian driver has switched his attention to the P-WRC.

“Absolutely it is time to step up,” Crocker told Australian Motorsport website speedcam.com.au. “The biggest hurdle is the budget. You have to compete in at least six events to qualify. With what will be a comparatively limited budget you have to select the events that best suit you. So we will aim to do Jordan and the next event will then be New Zealand.”

If the 38-year-old can secure the budget required, he will enter his Group N Possum Bourne Motorsport-run Subaru Impreza in six P-WRC rounds to qualify for the overall championship. He finished third in P-WRC during a one-off outing in Rally Australia last season.
